SINGLE REVIEW | DINOSAUR 94 | RED OR GREY

4 piece Edinburgh band Dinosaur 94 explore new punk sound in their new single ‘Red or Grey’.

The band Dinosaur 94, based in Edinburgh, recently released their upbeat and funky new single ‘Red or Grey’ on 2nd August. With a steady, consistent beat, a catchy chorus, and a retro vibe with hints of nostalgia, this song is perfect to listen to on a late-night drive. The vocals give the song a punk vibe with their indie sound. For the band, this song sounds experimental.

Lizzie, Josh, Bertie, and Ed make up the band’s quartet. Although the band is relatively new, they are already making a lot of noise and releasing some excellent music. With their debut album ‘You’ve Got The Wrong Guys’ releasing in 2023, they have performed at numerous events, including the Edinburgh Psych Fest in 2023 and a show for their devoted fans at Sneaky Pete’s Edinburgh in 2024.

I can picture a venue all lit up, everyone enjoying the track, and I’m sure that ‘Red or Grey’ will sound incredible live. As you keep listening to it, the song grows on you. It simply gets better and better.

If you haven’t heard of Dinosaur 94, I highly suggest you give them a listen! Especially if you love indie/punk sounds and want to support your local Scottish artists. Here you can listen to ‘Red or Grey’ the latest single on Spotify.
