In addition to releasing a UK tour in spring 2025 Brooke Combe’s new single, “Shaken By The Wind,” proves she is one of Scotland’s fastest-rising artists. The song is the most recent single from her breathtakingly first album, Dancing At The Edge Of The World, which will be released by Modern Sky Records on January 31, 2025.
Combe’s brand new track, “Shaken by the Wind,” which she co-produced with musician and producer James Skelly, best known as the singer of The Coral, is the ideal introduction, offering a tantalising glimpse of the artist she will become. Written by Jungle’s Tom McFarland, it is a piano-driven slice of bliss, “The track was the first collaborative song I wrote for the album,” Brooke says. “I got the train down to London to meet up with Tom at his studio. Me being such a big Jungle fan, I was really excited to see what we’d come up with. Tom came up with a chord progression and then I basically messed around with some melodies to see what would work. After that, the writing sort of flowed naturally off the back of everything else and the song was born.”
Combe has a beautiful voice that makes this new song simple to listen to. Her distinctive and captivating voice captivates you and compels you to pay attention. Combe’s singing has a greater effect because of the song’s straightforward yet catchy melody. Renowned for her compelling live performances, Brooke will begin her eight-day run at Norwich Arts Centre on April 4th. Her biggest headline performance to date will take place at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Saturday, April 19th.
Brooke gives listeners a sense of closure throughout the album, but she also opens up possibilities. It’s like as one door closes, many others open to hear her voice. Britain’s newest and brightest star delivers a clear, unquestionable album with the new single “Shaken by the Wind” being played UK wide.
I am eager to hear the remainder of this album if “Shaken by the Wind” is a snippet of things to come.
