Gig Preview | The Kris Barras Band

The Kris Barras Band are set to perform four nights across Scotland this week as part of their ‘This is My Parade‘ tour. Starting with The Caves in Edinburgh on Wednesday, the band will head north to The Tunnels in Aberdeen, back down to Church in Dundee before finishing the Scottish leg of their tour in Glasgow on Saturday night at Cathouse.

The band, named for their former MMA and Muay Thai fighter frontman Kris Barras, are known for their high-energy, no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll.  They released their fourth album, ‘Death Valley Paradise’ in March last year, charting at number 27 in the UK. This album sees the band perform heavier and darker tracks which are sure to go down an absolute storm live.

Some of the band’s highlights have been winning Planet Rock Radio’s ‘Best New Band’ in 2019 and support slots for Bon Jovi , Black Stone Cherry and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. Whilst Barras can also boast a place on MusicRadar’s list of ‘The 17 Best Blues Guitarists in the World’ where he was voted at number 13.

Barras retired from his 10 year professional career in MMA and Muay Thai in 2014 to focus on music and training other fighters. He ended his career with a total fight record of 14 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.

Tickets for all four Scottish shows are still available here and support comes from Belfast duo Dea Matrona.
