From the moment “No One Does It Better Than You” kicks in with the guitar and drums, you know you’re in for something good. The July 4th release from Hector Boys has a melody that gets stuck in your head. The lyrics “I cant stop this feeling” stand out with pure energy and makes you want to sing along. Meanwhile, the bassline and drums hold down a solid foundation.
They blend genres together nicely, indie at heart but with hints of pop and a wee bit of rock edge. There is a cool waltz-like section towards the end of the track which changes up the tune and shows off their range.
“No One Does It Better Than You” is a proper summer earworm, the kind of song that feels right at home in a lively venue. Keep an eye out for the Hector Boys’ EP dropping September 12th.
