On the 8th night of the King Tuts Revolution series, three incredible bands – Lost In Vancouver, Denver National Hockey Team and Vanderlye – supported the anticipated headliner, Leisureland, who played a phenomenal sold-out show on the 11th of January.
Lost In Vancouver
The indie rock band was set to play at 7:45 pm. Being the first act of the night, they kicked off with a killer performance that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Their single ‘Voicemail,’ recently featured on BBC Introducing, showcases a blend of atmospheric sounds with intricate guitar riffs accompanying layered vocals. In addition, the band performed their standout single ‘Pinot Noir,’ capturing the crowd’s attention with soft guitar and melodic soundscapes, complemented by bittersweet lyrics that immersed everyone.

Denver National Hockey Team
This 4-piece band made their way on stage at 8:30pm. Their style falls within the grungy rock genre, featuring singles in their set, ‘Get It, Left It’ and ‘Parking Ticket’ both released in 2024. They delivered a hardcore indie style, evoking that 2000’s rock band feel. The set was packed with energy and the bands’ engagement and banter with the crowd between every tune was stellar. Their new EP is set to release in May/June of this year, make sure to check it out when it drops!

Vanderlye
Vanderlye’s sound, performance and chemistry set the crowd alight at 9:15pm. The harmonisation of lead and backing vocals was dreamy, almost as if the packed crowd was hypnotised by their enchanting stage presence. The band carry punk-driven indie rock into their tracks, with the single ‘Terrible Comfort’ released in January of 2024, featuring haunting melodies. Additionally, singles ‘Guilty Lovers & Heartbreak Serenades’ and ‘This Plastic Ego’ took the audience on an emotional rollercoaster.

‘Romantic Anarchy’, their newest single, took us on an intimate journey, exploring intensity and chaos through passionate lyricism and a dynamic sound that kept the crowd in motion. Check out their new single below.
Leisureland
Leisureland arrived on stage at 10pm and from the bat, their charisma was electric. Originally from Paisley, the band played a well-curated set list involving popular hits like ‘Scarlett Eyes’, a favourite among the audience. We were treated to a preview of their brand new single ‘Suzie’ on the night (set to release on platforms soon) which left the audience hanging onto every word sung.

‘Tired’, released in October of last year, also featured in the set list. The single is a slow build up with electric guitar woven throughout, whilst portraying intense emotional labour through deep lyricism. It’s a song where you can sway to the rhythm and feel every word at the same time.

‘Jamaica Street’ was a crowd favourite, the barricade was just about holding the audience back until lead singer Adam joined them to sing ‘Waster’, their ability to make the whole room feel part of the performance was outstanding. Leisureland overall outdid themselves with this gig and are set to perform at the Eyezzz Of The Orb festival on the 28th of February. For more information check out their Instagram below!
