Four-piece alternative rock band Layaway released their thunderous single ‘Fire in Silence’ on the 18th June. The single is the second chapter of a three part music video saga on their Youtube page, the first tune being ‘Gravity’ that was released two months prior. You can hear that single below.
Fire in Silence begins with a catchy guitar riff and is accompanied with vigorous down picking, which when teamed up together sounds like a delayed effect making the overall sound pretty cool. Already hypnotised by the guitars, the drums catch you off guard and the emotive vocals of the lead singer come slowly behind. The singer displays his talents mostly in the chorus showing his raw, loud ear-piercing voice; “You gave me nothing but fire, you’re still burning up my life” he chants in the chorus. My first thought is how great this will sound live at gigs with the crowd screaming it back at you, especially if they know what that band was feeling when writing the song.
