In 2010, six friends from Melbourne, Australia, joined together to create the musical escapade that is King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. On May 27th, the group will bring their genre-fusing and mesmerising mix of albums to life at a sell-out gig in the Usher Hall in Edinburgh. The band will be supported by Grace Cummings, who in 2010 as a solo artist, landed a record deal with Flightless Records. This record label was founded by Eric Moore, the former King Gizzard drummer.

Across their nearly 15 year history, King Gizzard have released 25 studio records, many of which have been released quickly, one after the other. In 2017 they released 5 albums with October 2022 alone seeing 3 complete studio albums. The band’s current lineup consists of Stu Mackenzie, Cook Craig, Michael Cavanagh, Joey Walker, Lucas Harwood and Ambrose Kenny-Smith. As a group, the band are known to eradicate all signs of traditional music making, evident in their rapid release of albums.

From “kaleidoscope garage rock” to “semi-acoustic cosmic ballads“, there are very few genres or styles that King Gizzard haven’t ventured into. With a setlist bound to be filled with hits from a range of their 25 studio records, there will definitely be a song for you.
